Current Transformer Cabinets or CT Cabinets are used extensively in the distribution of electricity in buildings with three-phase service and single-phase services greater than 200 amperes. CT cabinets are used to drive the electrical utility’s watt-hour meter and provide protection against tampering and contact with the parts contained in the current transformer cabinet.
CT cabinet design, size and internal complexity is largely dictated by local utility companies. Most of NJ Sullivan’s CT Cabinets comply with UL Type 1 and Type 3R. Cabinets are formed and continuously seam welded from 14 or 12 gauge steel depending on size. Meter seals for utility lock out. Cabinets are powder coated with standard ANSI 61 Powder coat finish.
NJ Sullivan builds CT Cabinets to comply with most utility companies, but also builds custom CT cabinets to meet special needs of our customers.
