Below are some examples of current transformer cabinets or CT Cabinets that meet PEPCO utility company’s specifications. These are UL rated CT Cabinets, UL type 1 for indoor use and UL type 3R for outdoor/indoor use.

CT Cabinets are used extensively for measuring current and drive the electrical utility’s watt-hour meter on virtually every building with three-phase service and single-phase services greater than 200 amperes.

The CT cabinet is designed to house these revenue generating devices and provide protection against contact and tampering. The size and internal complexity of the CT cabinets is based on the local utility’s design.

Formed and continuously seam welded from 14 or 12 gauge steel depending on size.
